Col A M Burnam auctioneer uses an aeroplane to reach a distant sale site in a rare speedup. The report notes his usual rapid travels still fall short and that the plane trip marked a notable departure in his scheduling.
A deal closed last week with N. B. Davis purchasing the interest of O. M. Sere Besger in the garage. Barr is to devote time to his tailoring and cleaning establishment. A good rain refreshed fields and greened grass and wheat stocks.
The Herald endorses Frank H. Drum and O. O. Mendenhall for re nomination in Beaver County. Both are first-year commissioners since July 1 1919 and praised for honesty economy and common sense. The paper urges voters to re elect these businesslike leaders regardless of party affiliation to continue in the Board of County Commissioners.
T L Ogilvie announces in this issue of Herald as Republican candidate for Bea ver County Assessor. Baptist missionary with district-wide work, lived near Forgan since 1911, farmed nearby. Arroyo Valley farm home of pure bred Duroc hogs Holstein cows and Brown Leghorn chickens. Aging, he and Mrs Ogilvie plan to leave farm. he is qualified and experienced for county office.
H M Drake of Dombey declares as Republican candidate for Beaver county assessor. He has served in the state legislature representing Beaver and Harper counties since 1904. A graduate accountant and bookkeeper, he owns the Dombey homestead and understands mining the claim. Born and raised in Pace sets, Elmwood, he emphasizes integrity and public service. He urges Republican voters to give him careful consideration at the August primaries for the November election.
