Easter Roast With Sunday School Boys

Ten boys and Mr. Spohn joined an Easter roast at the sand hills last Saturday afternoon. L. N. Ford painted new signs for Annie L. Jones the milliner this week.

Fire consumes 10000 bales at Interstate Compress plant

Ten thousand bales of cotton were destroyed by a fire Tuesday evening at the Interstate Compress company plant in Ola Homa City. The origin of the blaze is undetermined and investigators salted the scene for clues.

Zimmerman’s Polands Average Almost 114 Dollars

The first annual sale of B D Zimmerman's Grand View Poland China hogs was held at Elmwood last Wednesday. Eighty six Polands sold for 4100 dollars, nearly 114 dollars per head. No 1 topped the sale at 350 dollars to L J Nichols. The hogs were noted as of the best blood lines.

Obituary of R Mefarland in Beaver County

R Mefarland, born in Bonham Texas in 1832, died March 4 1921 in Beaver County aged 89 years, 6 months, 24 days. He moved to Beaver County in 1840s, married Miss Paine Smith in 1845, and had four children. A Mason, he helped establish the lodge at Flocis, suffered a stroke years ago, and is survived by wife, four children, two sisters and a close friend. Funeral at home conducted by the Masonic lodge, burial in Beaver cemetery.

Birthday Dinner Honor for Mr and Mrs A 8 Brown

Easter Sunday dinner at the home seven miles southwest of Beaver celebrated the birthdays of Mr. Brown age 67 and Mrs. Brown age 59. Attendees included Mr and Mrs Geo Altman and children Mrs Hugh McParland Mrs Edith Kelly and children and Tim Batley. Hosts’ guests enjoyed the party and wished them many happy returns.

Mrs. W. T. Quinn returned from Norman Monday after attending the Sunday School convention held over the weekend.

Easter Storm Hits Missouri and Plains Regions

A severe Easter storm swept Missouri Kansas Nebraska and Oklahoma Sunday bringing snow hail rain and high winds. Oklahoma bore the brunt with afternoon strikes, while north central Nebraska saw near zero temperatures. Hail storms caused major orchard and garden damage and thousands of window panes were broken. Muskogee suffered extensive destruction with property losses running into thousands of dollars.

Surprise Dinner For Mrs. O. D. Smith At Methodist Church

Friends organized a surprise for Mrs. O D Smith after Sunday service. Congregation brought baskets for a large basket dinner filling three tables. Rev Butler announced a Bible gift from the Sunday School and church and Mrs Smith received two verses in blessing. Her music class hosted a brief program of music and recitations.

B L Jones Named Manager of Home Lumber Company

B L Jones, formerly manager of Howe Lumber Company at Knowles, has accepted the post of manager of Home Lumber Company in Beaver. Jones will take charge of the local office, with plans to move to Beaver once a house can be rented. Former manager Be Sprrier has not decided his future but intends to stay in Beaver.

Destructive Fire Sweeps Tyrone Tyrone Block

A Tuesday blaze on the Rock Island line between Liberal and Guymon burned five frame buildings in Tyrone Tyrone. It started in the J. D. Sims Mercantile store and spread west to the block end. Liberal fire department arrived too late. origin of the fire remains unknown.

Hooker Wins Beaver All Star Tournament Finals

Hooker basketball team claimed the title in the Beaver All Star Tournament finals held this week. Only four of eleven entered teams were represented, with Gate Tyrone Hooker Beaver and the Beaver American Legion squad competing.
