Rainfall Hearts Central Eastern County Welcomed

A hearty rain fell Tuesday night across the central and eastern county, easing dust and blowing wind. The general shower was sufficient to quiet dust winds that had plagued the area for weeks, bringing relief and a sense of calm after a dry spell.

County Spelling and Reading Contests

Beaver High School hosted the county Spelling and Reading Contests on Saturday April 2. Twenty two contestants from districts across the county competed with Everest Pansoh spelling one hundred words correctly and Donald Phelps taking second prize. Winners earned five dollars each with prizes donated by local sponsors including the Beaver Herald and W. S. Hanly.
