Lucien Wright son of the county clerk was wounded in what authorities call an accidental knife thrust by George Kile during a drunken confrontation at the Ben Bogue livery barn. A Pretty Church Wedding at Meade Kansas

Miss Laura Mackey of Meade Kansas married Mr Job Net at Meade in a pink and white ceremony at the Presbyterian church. The bride wore embroidered chiffon and carried roses while attendants wore shadowed crepe and pink hats. A four course breakfast followed at Selimaker cafe and the couple planned a two week honeymoon in Colorado before settling in Meade.

M Turner of Elmwood tested two wheat samples for smut. One seed was treated with formaldehyde before planting, the other left untreated. The treated seed showed no smut and yielded well, while the untreated seed was half smutted and poorer, at a cost not exceeding one cent per bushel.

Women Delegates at National Convention Rise

Four women delegates were seated at the national convention opening in Chicago on June 18. California supplied two delegates, with Oregon and Washington also represented. OneCalifornia delegate, Charles Blaney, described as aggressive, noted that women delegates were not new to the party.
