Beaver Oklahoma area notes report a railroad meeting set for June 27 and multiple town visitors. Other items include revival progress at Clear Creek, church activities, subscriptions, and local residents' movements between Beaver and nearby towns.
The Chicago National Republicans convention chose William H. Taft of Ohio for president and James S. Sherman of New York for vice president with broad support. Oklahoma cast its fourteen votes for Taft and Sherman, promising a united campaign path.
Judge R H Loofbourrow purchased a touring car from Frank Long of Englewood who had just returned from Kansas City. Long sold the car to the judge to move to Colorado, and the vehicle will be driven back from Enid. W H Palmer renewed for his father G K Palmer of Mt Carroll Ill at Robarte McKillips store. W G Fields is fencing and preparing lots in South Beaver to build a neat three room residence.
Mildred H Mason aged one year seven months and two days died June 17 1908. Daughter of Walter J and Margaret Mason of Benton township Beaver County Oklahoma. Survived by father mother and five siblings. Funeral conducted by Samuel Mecham M E church June 18 1908 at 9 00 pm. Prof Perry delivered address at the courthouse to Normal students.
Wet weather across Oklahoma delays batir sorghum and cowpeas as fields wash and replanting becomes necessary. Late maturing crops should be planted now while shorter m maturities may go in from early to mid July. Kafir corn belongs before July first, sorghum thrives with 24 to 36 inch rows, and cowpeas need 75 to 90 days to mature with drill or row planting and thorough cultivation.
The Gaymon Herald praises Dennis T Flynn as an ideal Republican standard bearer. It lauds his honesty, leadership, and Irish heritage, arguing his fitness for the U S Senate and predicting Oklahoma would be proud to have him represent the state amid any Democratic schemes.
The letter defends Oklahoma's school land system against critics who demand selling state land. It notes Oklahoma has the smallest tenant-farmer share in the United States, with 99.03 percent owning their farms and just 0.7 percent tenants. It warns against selling school lands to fund common school, arguing such moves would reduce long term value and contradict democratic ideals. The piece accuses political platforms of using flashy labels for votes.

The Moquero townsite on the Cawaon Branch of the El Paso and Southwestern Railroad will open to the public on July 6 and 10 with land sold to the highest bidder. Moquero aims to become the leading town in the region, with a special train from Tucumcari on July 6 and excursion rates from the south and east.
