Destructive Hail Storm Hits County Causing Wide Damage

A Thursday evening hail storm caused widespread destruction across the county with gardens crops and fruit wiped out in many areas. In the South Flat region high winds unroofed a home and toppled trees while window glass shattered along the storm path. A death notice arrives as Mrs. Joe Tack mourns her father Mr Boyle. An unrelated employment ad invites agents to canvass for the Mak A Tractor in Liberal Kansas.

Flower of Beaver County Manhood Responds to Call

Beaver county holds large registration drive in response to the Presidents Proclamation. 1068 men registered with strong show of patriotism, only two reportedly refused to go to war. Twenty failed to register, with investigations ongoing. Exemptions numbered 796 total disability 618 dependent relatives 110 for occupational reasons. One alien enemy registered.

Mrs. J. H. Smith Dies After Long Illness

Mrs. J H Smith of near Riverside died Sunday morning June 3 from Brights disease after years of illness. A daughter and a son from Kansas joined her husband and family in sorrow. Funeral at Christian church Beaver conducted by Rev L L Shaw. Body to be shipped to Lynn county Missouri for interment. Funeral party leaves Tuesday.

Beaver Chautauqua Dates Set for July

Beaver announces the first chautauqua of the year from July 1 to 25 with a top chautauqua company. Five days and nights will feature music lectures and other attractions, inviting locals to plan trips and vacations around the event. The notice frames chautauquas as educational and culturally uplifting, bringing distant wonders home.

Accident at Beaver: Father Shot in Ankle by 6 Year Old

J. W. Kramer from twelve miles southwest of Beaver was brought to the hospital after his 22 rifle discharged by his six year old son. The bullet lodged in the ankle and was chiselled out. Kramer is recovering and expected to be up soon.

Beaver family hosts first Beaver grown frye dinner

A birwnasy dinner for n. F., Jr., at the Garrets home featured spring frye raised by Chief. These first-ready-to-table frye grown in Beaver were enjoyed by the family with Grandpa J. Shore and Dave Shore, Mrs. Garrett’s uncle, visiting from Springfeld, Colorado.

Sew-Borh Babe Dies After Brief Illness at Farm

A sudden death occurred Monday evening near Popular prices at the Big Tent where Mrs Wan Stewart resided on Sheriff Jim Coush's farm. The infant died a few hours after birth following a brief illness.
