The Beaver Hospital relocates to the second floor of the new McKillips building near the port office. The facility boasts modern construction, large well lit rooms, and comfortable climate for patients year round.
Beaver residents welcomed Judge E. B. Jewett and associates from White Kansas who visited to assess the town and the Farmers' and Bankers' Life Insurance Company ties. Jewett helped found Beaver in 1847 and named the town. his party praised Beaver's development and forecast steady growth. Also reported are the death of J. R. Crabtree, longtime Beaver resident and veteran, with funeral details and notes on his upright character. Surgical operations at Beaver Hospital included three patients recovering.
The Class of 16 BM 8 held commencement at the Christian church with six graduates receiving diplomas. Mire Mabel Green was salutatorian and Mise Anna Hughes valedictorian. other graduates were Eva Green Beale Manefield Meliesa Hebbard and Alfred Huguley. Rev Uhm TD Norman spoke as music accompanied.
Spangler Bros plan a new modest playhouse on the Beaver site south of the Herald office. The building will be 2 118 feet with a 2x4 foot stage and two dressing rooms. They aim to imitate good features from many similar theatres and finish construction within ten days.
The First National Bank moved into the new building on the corner of Second and Douglas last week. The attractive structure features extensive plate glass windows for ample lighting and adds beauty to the street. Inside decorations and fixtures are also described as attractive, making it an ornament to the area and a desirable bank location.
