Three laws signed by Lou isia Governor affect women in the state. One statute lets women dispose of separate property without husband consent another lets spouses testify against each other and a third amends Article 210 to allow women to serve on boards of educational and clerical institutions. Red Ribbon Honors Women Writers Artists and Voters

M E Church Notes Repair and Upcoming Temperance Service
Work on the north wall of the M E Church is finished making it practically new. The Second Quarterly Conference holiness session was held at the parsonage last Friday. Rev. Bupe, pastor of the M E Church at Minneola, visited with district superintendent. Next Sunday night a special Temperance service with a cordial invitation to all not in regular attendance. Miss Lulu Sits visited from Kiowa, returning with Lenore Long and Elisabeth Young to stay at Mr Sims's home over the weekend.

Picnic Party at Kiowa Ranch Promotes Family Fellowship
A large group of local families including Crattree, O Trary, Long, Mrs. Young and the Lee Ow, with the Sims and Young families, spent a day at Joho splendid ranch. They enjoyed a hearty dinner, shade under trees, and swimming in Kiowa waters, returning home late in the day after a pleasant outing aboard several vehicles.
