Chas Lincoln McGuire Nominated for Oklahoma Elector

Charles Lincoln McGuire of Davis, a Republican nominee for presidential elector in the Fitts Oklahoma District, served as a Michigan volunteer in the 180s after the easto army. He recounts capturing an enemy officer with Major Abbey, paroling the prisoner, and receiving an invitation from Colonel Roosevelt to join the Rough Riders, which he declined.

M E Church notes and local community updates

Repair work on the M E Church began Monday morning to fix meter damage with completion expected before next Sunday. Rev H Stipe will preach at the Sunday service and a Second Quarterly Conference will be held at the parsonage next Friday night July 21. The Epworth League picnic was held at Wrights Grove with about forty attendees.
