Next Sunday, the fifth of the month, the Methodist Episcopal Church will not hold preaching due to the pastor's missionary duties in Floris. A group of friends gathered Thursday night at Mr and Mrs Emmett Gardner residence for a surprise birthday celebration planned by Mrs Gardner. The evening was pleasant and editor Hamilton of the Farmers News visited town Monday without learning of the surprise. Mrs Werner, mother of Mes Jon Conrad of North Fiat, died at her daughter's home Wednesday with interment planned today. The cause of death was not learned.

Beaver County school board approves a four year Beaver High School course aimed at University entrance. It details required subjects in English Latin German geometry algebra history science and manual training, totaling fifteen units for graduation. The diploma enables university admission without further examination.
D H Hallock from near Minglewood Kansas was pardoned after serving about 60 days of a two year sentence for land law violations in Woodward county. He faced charges from 1908 involving inducing a settler to prove homestead claims and later transferring the land, relinquishing it to the government and paying a large fee.

The Dorcas Society hosted a surprise party for Lala and Johnnie Sime with phonographs and records for sale. The event featured tea and cake, and the girls supervised the entertainment. The sale and offerings were arranged near the Thompson hotel in Beaver, Oklahoma.
