B F Ruth, a prosperous Beaver County farmer from the east end, visited the county seat Friday. B Still came from Elmwood in Monday for business there. Riverside meeting forms Beaver County Red Cross branch

An enthusiastic gathering at Riverside school house in district 121 organized a Beaver County Chapter of the American Red Cross. Rev I L Shaw spoke on humanity and patriotism. Floris Red Cross Branch Organized in Beaver County

Mrs EliDean Fincher traveled from Floris Monday to supervise the formation of a Red Cross branch in Beaver County. Floris had previously organized an auxiliary to Forgan Branch but rapid growth necessitated a branch of its own. Mrs Sam Long chairs and Mrs Ell Dean Fincher serves as secretary treasurer, with strong community work reported.

Serious Fall Hurts Mrs Drake at Niles Building

Mrs HM Drake of Dombey sustained serious head injuries and bruises after falling from an iron fence near the Niles building steps on Tuesday. She left hospital caretaking and returned home yesterday as County Attorney Twyford and Dr. Mary Twyford’s hospital work continues amid wartime strains.

Income tax officer to visit Beaver county January 18 to 30

A notice from Internal Revenue Collector Herbert L. Bolen announces a federal income tax officer will visit Beaver county from January 18 to 30, providing free help to prepare 1917 returns. Mrs Parmelia Morris age 72 died Monday at her home ten miles southwest of Beaver. She was the mother of her son with whom she made her home. Funeral arrangements were to be announced.

Court Clerk DeGraw sold his improved farm ranch home to R L Russell who owns adjoining land. The sale includes a nearby parcel with provisions for future development and upstanding improvements. Russell plans to consolidates his holdings with the neighboring property.

Ray Infant Rites Held Near Blaver Cemetery

The ten days old Ray infant of Mr. and Mrs. H A residence five miles south of town died Saturday. Funeral services were held Sunday and interment was in the Blaver cemetery.
