A Alaska woman, described as the oldest white resident nearby, writes to Ted Coss about sending a $96.60 money order for Red Cross relief. She notes collecting the sum from men on two Tin Dredges, has been in the town 10 years with little outside contact, and expresses pride in supporting soldiers during the war. She asks for notification when the remittance is received.
The Town and County Nursing Service of the American Red Cross announces a series of public health nursing scholarships funded by special war gifts from chapters and individual donors.
