Marion Griffy Injured in Motorcycle Collision and Amputation
Marion Griffy son of T. B. Griffy foreman of this shop suffered serious injuries in a motorcycle automobile crash weeks ago. He later jumped from bed, injured his limb again and a poisonous centipede bite led to amputation. Also notes a newborn death in the Seese family and burial at Beaver cemetery on August 14, 1922.

Shaver Independent School Opens Plans and Staff Updates
Superintendent A C Gulte and family are now residents as Beaver High prepares for September. Principal Arthur Welton and Ter H Butler return from travels. Blanche Meliner teaches at the high school and trains in Boulder. An extra classroom is added in the grade building. Bookkeeping, Shorthand, Typewriting and Commercial Law will be taught by a commercial teacher. Football practice will begin once enough players are available and motivated.

Trackers Training Course in Session for Teachers
The Teachers Training Course began in session with about thirty to forty teachers attending. Enrolment of fifty or more is expected before the week ends. Gilbert and Homer Hill are instructors presenting engaging features. Chapel exercises at the Methodist church start at eleven, with special numbers. An audience of sixty or seventy teachers and townspeople enjoyed Prof. C. B. Gilbert's Crayon Lecture and Magic Art, described as very fine. On Wednesday afternoon a picnic at Peckham's north of Lawn honored the teachers.
