Recreation of New Church at Pooxem Texas

Beaver residents attend dedication service at the Christian church after Sunday School. Notables present include Mr and Mrs Needham, Rev. Needham, Irene and Marie, Abbie Hammond, Mayme Lathe McPherson, Violet Me ran Russell, and County Treasurer Gowan. A splendid casket dinner followed the eleven o'clock service and a home game was scheduled for Sunday.

Ladies Music Club Meets and Resigns Declined

The Beaver Ladies Music Club held a special meeting at Mrs. W. G. Stranathan’s home to plan the year. Mrs. Stranathan offered resignation but the motion was tabled. Gifts were given to new members Mrs. Harry Beegle and Mrs. Wade Loofhamrow from Buffalo. A duo piano and vocal program followed with grape ice and wafers served.

Pure Bred Breeders Meet At Beaver Court House

A large delegation from across the county attended the Pure Bred Breeders Association meeting in Beaver. Officers named included EB D Zimmerman president and A A Haskell vice president, with a goal to establish a Stock Sales Pavilion. Directors were elected as Nicholson Jordan Ginter Hanly Simmons. New members joined and plans for a joint effort with the Fair Association and chamber of commerce were discussed to boost the project.

Big Carnival Coming to Beaver for Local Enjoyment

Beaver Chamber of Commerce promotes a large carnival attraction arranged after securing a vacant date on their circuit. The event brings a high class show to Woodward and other towns, offering extended recreation once the busy chau tauque period ends. The community cheers the boosters for the lively entertainment.

Ice Plant for Beaver Could Improve Local Supply

Plans are under way for a new ice plant in Beaver with L P West and others showing interest. West currently supplies ice from Forgan, shipping by wagon and ear, but seeks a local plant to improve reliability and meet strong town demand. Community support is urged to back the project.

Stock Sales Pavilion Planned by Beaver Groups

A joint Beaver County coalition backed by the Pure Bred Breeders Association Beaver County Fair Association and Beaver Chamber of Commerce aims to erect an 80 by 100 foot Live Stock Sales Pavilion on the Beaver fair grounds donated by local citizens. The project with a projected cost around 10000 dollars has site funding of 1600 dollars and the First National Bank of Beaver will serve as trustee. Completion is unlikely before next county fair but roughing in will proceed and construction could begin soon.

Pierce Died In Kansas. Funeral Held At Floris

Clayton R. Pierce arrived by train in Forgan Tuesday night and died August 1, 1921, in a Wichita hospital from cancer in the stomach. Funeral services were held at the Pierce home near Floris with a Masons delegation from Heaver assisting. A local Paige car purchase and other community notices follow, including railway and local life events.

City Market Installs Modern Refrigerating Plant

W G Stranathan proprietor of City Market added a new refrigerating plant this week installed by Jease Robineau of Kansas City. The upgrade will ease icing problems and improve service. Rev. Carter of the Baptist Church preached a strong open air sermon Sunday before Quinn Grocery with Herschel Hooper delivering a bars solo to a large crowd.

Mrs Lawrence McCabe Dies After Long Illness

Mrs Lawrence McCabe died at her Beaver home Saturday afternoon after months of serious illness. Funeral services were held Sunday with interment in Beaver Cemetery. She had lived in Beaver and vicinity for many years and was well known and liked by many oldtimers and friends.

Former Beaver Pioneer Dies at Woodward

Jim Donnely of Woodward, early Beaver settler, died at home this week from apoplexy. His passing was sudden, discovered by family members. He lived in Beaver during its pioneer days and married Bertha Smith, sister of Fannie McFarland and Ka Peckham.

Body of Bernola Turner Arrives from France

The remains of Bernola Turner, a native of Klinewood, killed in action in France, arrived home last night to a large gathering of relatives. A funeral service is planned at Capitol View Church near Elmwood with interment at the church cemetery.
