Liberal City backs K and O railroad to connect Liberal to Forgan

The Liberal Kansas weekly urges immediate action to back the Kansas and Oklahoma railroad project from Liberal to Forgan, proposing a $20,000 bond issue and outlining plans to finance segments from Greenough to Forgan. An allied route from Liberal to Hooker is under Washington review, with Liberal’s future trade at stake. Mr. and Mrs. H. D. Young Lady Ming Ser Ah Hibtw Passes Away

Ming Ser Ah Hibtw daughter of Mr and Mrs John White near Elmwood died at Pallart Texas early Saturday morning the 20th after an appendicitis operation. Her funeral was at Beaver Christian church conducted by Rev T K Carter with burial in Beaver Cemetery. Gerald attended a summer school at P A M C Goodwell and had been unwell weeks prior. The community shows deep sympathy for the bereaved parents and family as crowds gathered for the service.

Prominent railroad promoter visits county seat then trip to Liberal

J A Tack of Wichita Kansas, a noted railroad promoter, visited Beaver last week to finalize a firm sale near Sunget with George Hennigh. He then traveled to Liberal to see his son Joe. Mrs Brown sustained a head injury when her car hit a rut in rain near Floris, but she recovered largely with black eyes and no other serious harm. Albert drove. Jessie Mathiv and her bride left for Colorado Springs for a few weeks operation.

Fields and Garber Nominated In County Primary Battle

Walton named in a close race while Fields and Garber secured nominations. The primary produced uneven results with many unopposed, listing counts for governor, congress, state senate, county offices, and district commissioners across Democrat and Republican tickets.

Midwest Highway Route Adopted By Beav er Chamber

The Mid West National Highway Association board at Hutchinson Kansas adopted a route from Chicago to Los Angeles via many towns including Beaver Oklahoma and Perry Texas. The Beaver Chamber of Commerce supports the plan and calls for local effort to build a tourist camp ground as winter spring and fall travel options shift away from snow routes. Johnnie Sims and Lu la Miller arrive from Alva to join Beaver schools as primary and grade teachers.

Miss Emma Henneigh Visits on Way Home from Goodwell

Miss Emma Henneigh of Sunset spent a week in Beaver during a summer school and on her return from Goodwell stopped at the home of County Superintendent Henson and family to take the teachers' examination. She left for home Monday morning with Mine Laure Henson Dale Kile and Join Beauchamp. B C Savoy was in town Monday.

Beaver Weather Report Describes Severe Rainfall

A Beaver area weather note reports heavy rain Tuesday afternoon, with water flooding streets including Douglas Avenue. Observers estimate one to two inches of rainfall from multiple directions, washing away dirt and affecting political views as rain varied in intensity and even included sleet at times.

Early Voting Opens in Precinct Amid Calm Election Day

Early Tuesday voting proceeded with ample booths and no congestion. Officials J. J. Crabtree, R. L. Museet, O. J. Loofbourrow, and Harry McCoy led counters, while Stacy Wella reported Marion Griffy in need of a foot amputation after a prior motorcycle accident. Mrs. Carky planned to inspect school conditions in Lindaborg, possibly moving to Boulder. Nellie and Reola McKillis head for Chautauqua in Colorado for a reprieve, and B. F. Brown of Mosquero visits his mother with a new Buick. Sutherland and Gamb visited Knowles for county-seat business and primary supplies.

Ex postmaster J A Miller retires after aiding Spurrier during a transition period. Beaver residents bid him farewell with regret as Mr and Mrs Spurrier take full charge. A farewell reception for Miss Mattie Koase follows while Mrs Enans, longtime Sunday school teacher, is also honored. An informal goodbye gathers for Mr and Mrs A B Kaan at their country home.
