A householder at Safety Stevens slept through a burglary early morning. When his wife whispered danger, he yawned and said let them go they may not find anything. He stressed having a bank account gives security and convenience.
Joe Meese will speak at Capitol Hill church on Clear Creek Sunday afternoon April 27. An all day meeting and big basket dinner are planned as friends recall his boyhood days near the old family homestead and honor his service to the country.
The Beaver community notes several new families relocating from nearby areas including Riverside and Six Mile. New arrivals include A Mouriquand, E M Judd, J T McDermott taking Beaver Store duties, and W Grace joining Peoples Store as the town prepares for a vote due by Friday April 26.
Tracy keeps busy improving his yard this spring with flower beds and new trees along the block. He hopes to nurture them to grow but warns of fragile saplings and risks from careless drivers who have damaged trees in the past.

Beav er County voters are reminded that all newly enfranchised women must register if they wish to vote in the Road Bond election and future contests. Mrs. Geo H. Healy relays a letter from Flossie Harrison formerly of Beaver now living in Liberal Kansas. Harrison, an expert typist, will sail from New York to France to take a YMCA secretary post with Paris headquarters. She expresses enthusiasm for the abroad assignment and confidence in her ability to serve.
Mrs Annie L Jones has undertaken extensive renovations on the building now housing Caylor Market. A new plate glass window and other upgrades have brightened the storefront, with neighbors calling her artistically enhancing the structure. Registration closes Friday April 15.
William Moore son of Mr and Mrs J W Moore comes home to Beaver County after more than two years in the Navy. He enlisted at Oklahoma City April 14 and trained at Great Lakes before serving overseas in Ireland England France and Scotland in the medical department reaching petty officer before discharge. His arrival was a surprise with a hometown welcome from family and Beaver County friends.
Two Easter Sunday services at the Federated Church featured a sacred cantata by Presbyterian choirs and solos, with a large congregation enjoying the performance. The evening program by the Presbyterian and Christian Sunday Schools also pleased attendees.
A. G. Worbley of Lipscomb Texas visited Beaver County last week to have sale bills printed for a large personal property sale. He praised the local Herald office for delivering the orders promptly the next day despite the office policy not to promise exact times. Worbley’s hardware background is noted and the event is framed as a success for local printing.
The Oklahoma district court continued its term with many cases disposed. Elian Gough was found guilty of rape involving a 14 year old, receiving 15 years in the state penitentiary. Dr. L Smith faced adultery charges and was found not guilty. Several other civil and foreclosure actions proceeded with various rulings and continuances.
A Friday night Easter party at the K of P hall featured Edith Miles Jeanie Keith Hazel McFarland Helen Murphy Corean Drum Hazel Barr and Messia Chas Miles Dave Kile Harry Cayler Harry Peckham and Herbert Smith entertaining many friends. The hall showed green and pink decor with Easter bunting flowers and refreshments served by Motia Davis and Louise Tracy.
R. M. Risley of Binwood visited the county seat and renewed his subscription for the thirty-second time. He has read The Herald since its start, with other loyal readers like R. Dunlop of Logan. A call to register to vote on Friday, April 20, is noted.
Manager Spangh presented the World War drama "America's Answer" at the Globe theatre. The old yet impactful film urged Liberty bond and Red Cross support and called for continued public service until the war effort was completed, leaving viewers stirred and motivated to help.
