Beaver Mothers Club held a regular session April 14 1922 with routine business reports and new committees named. Residents and visitors from Elmwood Riverside Balko and Couch attended events while school and county officials assisted with a spelling contest and paper grading.

Wheat prospects for coming year in county show strong yields

An agricultural agent visiting Beaver to Liberal Kansas reports 89 fields inspected show average condition with 14 percent abandonment, indicating an expected average yield of about 11 bushels per acre. Geo Bailey, service car driver, accompanied the agent during the tour.

Ernest Slocum of Hillcrest Farms left for Kansas City and other points to inspect top Duroc herds and return with breeding stock. Mrs May Day visited Woodward to see her son Francis who is recovering from a successful operation in Wichita Kansas. Beaver Pioneer Hubert Richards Dies After Long Illness

Hubert Richards born in France February 16 1848 came to America as a boy and moved to Beaver County in 1908. He married Misa Mary Dorkman October 9 1885 and leaves four daughters Mrs. Litetia Gilbert Mrs. Josephine Colton Mrs. Susie Powell and Mrs. Gertrude Gafford along with his wife. He died April 16 1922 after a long illness. Funeral services were held at home April 18 at 2 p m by Rev. H. G. Butler and burial was in Beaver cemetery.

Weatherford hosts 24th district meeting of Oklahoma federation

The 24th district meeting of the Oklahoma Federation of Women’s Clubs was held in Weatherford with Mrs. C. H. Casky and Mrs. E. L. Fickel among attendees. The event focused on county cooperation, home and community development, and nonpartisan civic engagement, ending with recognition for Beaver County officers including Mrs. Q. H. Casky as vice president and Mrs. E. L. Piekel as secretary.

The Beat Ash Rite Masons of Beaver County held a Maundy Thursday ceremony at K P Hall on April 13 1922 to honor The Last Supper.
