Republican Precinct Meeting And County Convention Call

The Republicans of Beaver County are called to meet in voting precincts on April 26 1922 at 2 oclock p m to elect two precinct committeemen one man and one woman and delegates to the County Convention. Delegates meet April 29 1922 at 2 oclock p m at the courthouse Beaver Olivia to elect County officers and form the County Committee.

Severe Wind Storm Hits Beaver County Monday

Beaver County reports a severe wind storm Monday with snow and sleet in Balko and nearby areas. The gale caused lines to be reset by the telephone company and minor windmill damage, but no serious harm was recorded. The writer notes Beaver’s usual luck against the elements.

Leading Beaver Citizen John W Savage Dies Suddenly

John W. Savage died of heart failure at 11 30 p m on April 7 1922 in Beaver. Born 1874 in Virginia Minncy he lived in Englewood Kansas and Beaver County most of his life. He served as sheriff county clerk and court clerk before moving into real estate loans. Survived by wife Jennie Maple son John Jr mother and several siblings. Funeral at Presbyterian church with interment in Beaver cemetery. A newborn daughter also died the same week.

M. E. Church Notes Sunday Services and Easter Events

The M. E. Church reports 97 in Sunday School and extends sympathy to the beloved superintendent and wife. Services were lively with the Holy Spirit after last Sunday and will run nightly except Saturday, with Thursday as the Lord's Supper. Easter Sunday invites all, bring eggs for Wealey hospital and remember the weekly tithe and offering. The church sits opposite the courthouse and is known as the church with a welcome.

A revival at the Beaver Methodist church begins Sunday night April 16 led by Evangelist G E Wright of Thornton Texas. The Chesstain congregation is urged to cooperate to make this the best revival ever held in Beaver.

Family visitors return home after brief stay

Dr. Emery Trekell and sister-in-law Mrs. Chattie Harmon came back to their homes on Tuesday. The former's wife stayed longer with her sister Mrs. J. W. Savage. Kenneth D. Blood, assistant in training in agriculture from A. and M. College at Stillwater, visited the county agent there on Tuesday.
