On Tuesday evening a successful ball organized by the Young People's War Memorial Committee was held in the Laura Town Hall. About £30 was raised from the evening including the sale of cold drinks and supper. Winners included a waltsing competition won by Pte Bede and Letty Bachm and the Statue Tango by Mrs. Cummins and Mr. Rott. Music was supplied by the Andrew Sisters Orchestra, Messrs.
