Salvation Army farewell in St Johns Alma officer departs

Envoy Charles Glassbrook and Mrs Glassbrook leave St Johns after over a year as Alma Glasabrook preaches farewell to a large crowd. In July 1920 they arrived to rebuild the corps, adding over 40 soldiers and guiding 275 penitent conversions. Captain Bessie Gillings will take charge with Lt Bogard assisting.

New Taxi Line To Be Started Between Alma and Saginaw

A new taxi service will run between Alma, Saginaw, and intermediate points starting Saturday September 24. The daily schedule: Alma to Saginaw 7:00 a.m., return after mid morning. 1:00 p.m. departure from Alma. return from Saginaw about 4:00 p.m. Fare from Alma to Saginaw is $2.00. Service operates daily except Sunday.
