Presbyterian Church Reopens After Repairs Sunday

Barkley, longtime Alma College trustee and former chairman, left a $1,500 Forest Avenue Church scholarship to Alma and bequeathed his private library to expand the college library. Young Man Struck by Automobile Saturday Injury Severe
Clarence Humphrey, 21, of Urovy Avenue, was severely injured last Saturday when struck by a bus driven by Mersit F S Hoot on Superior Street between State and Woodworth. Large Barn Burns on Nelson Farm Southeast of St Louis
A large barn on Earl Nelson’s farm about three miles southeast of St Louis was destroyed Friday afternoon with losses near $5,000. The fire’s start is unknown though it began on the south side. flames spread rapidly as 20 to 40 tons of hay and other materials were consumed. Firefighters from Louis fought the blaze but could not save the barn. livestock were moved to safety. Nelson, who bought the farm last spring, carried little insurance and planned to transfer it to himself.
