Shortly after midnight the Alma Fire Department tackled a fire in a vacant second floor apartment above the National Clothing store in the Harr Gibbs block. Thieves Relieve Alma Store on East Superior Street
Thieves robbed the Cushing Benedict Five and Ten Cent store on East Superior Street Thursday night, taking about 100 dollars of goods before fleeing. Entrance was gained by breaking a rear window, with likely involvement of local boys. A cut from broken glass was found on one thief.

About 135 babies were weighed and measured, several emergency cases treated, and a well used mothers rest room provided.
