GUT BY BARBED WIRE INJURY TO BOY NEAR ALMA
Howad Pettitt's seven year old son, running after his father as he drew dirt for a scavation, ran into a barbed wire trace and cut his lip. Seven stitches were needed and the doctor said the boy will have a small permanent scar. The incident occurred about two and a half miles north and two west of Alma.

Michigan Supreme Court Justice Charles A Blair died suddenly at his Lansing home on August 20 from heart failure after a period of ill health. Born April 14, 1854 in Jackson, he was the son of War Governor Austin Blair and served as attorney general before joining the court. He was 76 and survived by his widow Effie C North and two children George F and Helen Marie. funeral plans were to be announced with interment at Jackson after services.

Rural Carriers Get Salary Increase and Leave Benefit

Ladies of the city hosted a reception at the Misses Delwane home on Monday afternoon from two to four thirty to honor Mr and Mrs Delavan who sail September 18 from New York City for their winter home.
