Arcada Framers held their last meeting on August 29 on John Murphy’s lawn. Members discussed final plans for the season and thanked leaders for service.
The Arcads Farmers Club held a picnic on John Murphys lawn in August with many attendees. The forenoon featured visiting and table setup for dinner, which consisted of goolies prepared by the women. Visitors from the Samer club Included Mr and Mrs W T Pitt of Seville.
Clinton Saul a brakeman on Pere Marinette suffered internal injuries and severe bruises after a coupling broke on a moving freight near the station. He was knocked from the hot cars and hurled forward as the train halted near the water tank. Saul, from Saginaw, was taken there for treatment.

Frank Studt of Ashley was struck by an Ann Arbor freight near Forest Hill after boarding the wrong train from Ithaca. He suffered a broken leg below the hip, a crushed hip, and severe leg injuries. He was found unconscious by the ditch and transported to Bratford for treatment.
