Excellent Showings for County Farm
The October Ithaca board of supervisors adjourned after a long session. They approved cement floors in the jail, new bedroom papering, extra lights, a steel bookcase for the register's office, and a clock in the courthouse tower at county village expense. The poor department requested $8,000 for support and $3,000 for a brick addition to the house, with last year’s appropriation at $10,000. The farm reported improvements, crops including 40 bushels of wheat, 1,060 of oats, 18 tons of hay, and losses from a large barn fire last Sunday. Stock included several horses, cows, young cattle, hogs, pigs, and chickens. A drain commissioner, school examiner, and poor supervisor were elected. A committee was formed to plan the county’s fiftieth anniversary celebration for May 6, 1908.
