New First Presbyterian Church to Rise in Alma
The corner stone laying for Alma's new Presbyterian church occurs at two o'clock this afternoon, with Rev David Howell presiding, followed by an address from Rev J M Barclay of Detroit. The Synod will visit by special train and stay in Alma. The college gymnasium cornerstone also will be laid. The church, costing about $10,000, will be built of Tonia sandstone and brick with a large adaptable auditorium, basement hall, dining room, kitchen, and china closets.

The Tribune reports Jennie M. Jennings formerly Mrs Wright wed Frank T. Storrs in the city county building after a Utah divorce granted to Mrs Wright. The couple had moved from Provo to Salt Lake for the marriage while Wright’s alleged crimes and pardons linger in state affairs. The ceremony followed Mrs Wright gaining custody of her child and restoring her maiden name Jennie M. Jennings.

Henry Brewbaker drives the feed barn plan in Alma, purchasing land near the Roller Mills and moving to manage the project full time. The two story brick barn will cover most of the site, with plans to ready it for fall use and extend the town’s business appeal.
