Injured Boy Struck by Auto Near State and Superior
Wilmer Knoertzer twelve year old son of Mr and Mrs J Knoertzer was seriously injured Saturday night when struck by a car driven by the young son of Mr and Mrs William Knudson. He bicycle ridden toward home turning corner saw approaching auto the driver saw him too late. The wheel was run over and the boy pinned beneath the wheel suffering severe internal injuries and bruises. He is expected to recover rapidly.

Army Navy serviceman Melvin Sehlappi dies at Great Lakes
Melvin Sehlappi son of George and Enlee Sehlappi of Alma dies at Great Lakes Training Station after a brief illness at sixteen. Born July 20, 1902 in Tustin he moved to Alma in 1911 and joined Chelatian church that year. He enlisted July 22 1917 in the US Navy and rose to quartermaster before death. Funeral held here Monday with Alma State Troops in attendance. Corporal Ruben Root and another corp died recently at Fort Sheridan and Camp Hancock Georgia.
