Alma man dies after horse accident in Carson City

Geo Moore, formerly of Alma, died from injuries after a horse bolted and knocked him against a barn in Carson City where he was visiting a daughter. He had suffered a rupture for years and was 58. Funeral plans call for Carson City services and Alma interment. Mrs Moore was an invalid and stayed with daughter Mrs Kaufman during the trip.

Alma College to Meet Albion on Davis Field Tomorrow

Alma College announces a football game against Albion at 2 00 p m tomorrow on Davis field as part of the Michigan college championship series. The outlook for Alma is strong with veterans Fuller Beechler Bangs and Brown from the 1901 team, Hartness and Horst in their positions, and new men Anderson Angell Cooley Davis Whitney Burnett Kennedy showing promise. Davis field is well equipped with grandstand seating for 800, admission 25 cents. Card of Thanks express gratitude for support during illness and death.

David Caruth stars in western romance play by Porter White

David Caruth is the new play by Porter White describing a romance of the West set in Arizona. White plays David Asrath and Jack Brainard in a tale of mistaken identity, murder, and dramatic confrontations. The cast includes an Indian, a judge, scheming rogues, a loyal servant, a wronged woman, and a Western girl. Seats on sale at Sharrar Mulholland's. White appears at the opera house in Asia on Monday evening February 6.

Pleasant town halts street fair pride and danger

The Street Fair in Mt Pleasant last week drew crowds and a surge of crime as the town opened wide for three days. The only bright spot was a balloon attraction, while locals warned neighboring towns to host fairs instead.
