Alma Man Dies at 18 in Consumption

An 18 year old, Harry W. Shaffer, died of consumption near Alma one day in November. Funeral services will be held at the residence Wednesday morning at 9:40, conducted by Rev. Zeta Sigma Banquet at Alma Springs Sanitarium

Last Tuesday evening the Zeta Sigma Literary society held its annual banquet at the Alma Springs sanitarium. Seventy six active and honored members attended a formal dinner and toasts in a room decorated with the society colors, palms, and carnations. The program featured toastmaster Geo Horst and speakers including Alexander Sayles, Harry Helmer, Miss Havel, Miss Frazer, Miss Jen Harper, and Prof. Mitchell, with remarks on the society’s history and future. The event closed with gratitude to the ladies and a toast to Zeta Sigma.
