Alta Michigan common council met in a rewrite session in the clerk s office on the above date. President Green and trustees Purity kin s Smith Tinker were present while trustees Montige and Bugley were absent. Minutes of last session read and approved. Various claims listed including Tucker Lancashire Michigan Pipe Co. and others. On motion funds and sidewalk repairs were approved and the clerk instructed to report financial condition at next regular session. Council adjourned.
The Y M C A convention in Alma brings Christian young men from Owosso Flint Bay City and East Saginaw. Papers on Christian work will be discussed by experienced speakers presided by J J Inglis East Saginaw Association secretary. Pulpits will host delegates Sunday morning and churches unite Sunday evening in College Chapel. Open to public except men only mass meeting Sunday afternoon.
The Detroit Journey asks nine mothers with large families to sign a card. Each signer receives one dollar for any card turned in, provided the total children count is largest. The scheme aims to boost numbers of large families and widen signatures on the card.

Medicines and books offered by B Van Den Burg with mail delivery. A Thanksgiving raffle at Angell House promises prizes of turkeys and chickens.
The Bee Hive advertises wholesale savings across textiles and clothing including Cot Fastatileos Prints and various flannels with 15 to 35 percent discounts. It promotes cheap dress flannels broad cloths Henriettas and Gluck goods plus undergarments hosiery gloves and mittens and a wide range of shoes with up to 25 percent savings and Crescent Heel Plates free.
Felts knit boots and lumbermen's socks are advertised alongside overcoats from cheapest to finest. The Bee Hive presents cheap suits heavy suits worsted sets Prince Albert coats chinchilla coats and vests working and fine pants. Latest style hats caps shirts collars cuffs neckwear handkerchiefs carpets and more all claimed cheaper than any carpet house or rival.
