Former Union Telephone Lineman Killed by Live Wire at Tonia

A Union man and former Union Telephone Company lineman, H.G. Roberts, was instantly killed Friday at Tonia while wiring a pole. A second worker, Nelson Perion, narrowly escaped after contacting a live 550 volt wire, falling from a 60 foot pole and suffering burns and internal injuries but surviving.
