A. F. Schultz announced the Alma public schools will host commencement exercises at the high school auditorium Thursday evening June 26 with President Charles McKenny of the Michigan State Normal as speaker. The class size is not yet known, likely not a record but sizable. The baccalaureate address will be Sunday evening June 22 at the Presbyterian church by Rev. James S Raum of the Church of Christ.
Alma College defeats Mt Pleasant Normale 7 to 5 in a high scoring Tuesday contest at Mt. Pleasant. Eddie Boyne started for Alma, but pitching wore down and the game was decided in the later innings as Alma piled up runs to secure the victory. Delitten and Wieck contributed on the mound and at the plate amid a string of errors and base hits. Betty Clapp and Floyd Clapp are noted in the obituary section, with services held May 15. Patrol roads in Gratiot County to be patrolled by Michigan highway commission crews for maintenance and possible future improvements.
