City to Build Water mains and Drains This Summer
City plans extensive water and drainage improvements over the coming year to improve water service, fire protection, and storm water removal. New six inch lines will be laid on West and East Downie streets, Hastings street, and a six inch drain on East Downie to the river. A new drain will serve Superior street and a storm drain on West Downie to Park and Park Avenue, feeding into the Kress Drain. Work is expected to start this summer with much under way soon.

Unveiling Planned for Wright Monument in Wright Park

George Hill Council 85 R and B M of Alma aided in exemplifying the super excellent degree at Grand Rapids for the 4th annual assembly of Grand Council Royal and Select Masters and 74th convocation of Royal Arch Masons of Michigan. About 1 200 Michigan Masons attended the early week gathering. Some members unable to travel joined in Grand Rapids Monday evening and some returned home yesterday.

Musical Contest at Mt. Pleasant in Michigan
The Third Annual High School Music Contest will be held at Central Michigan Normal School Mount Pleasant on May 25 and 26.
