An elderly woman and a girl in an open buggy met a tin wagon two miles south of Elwell. Old Dobbin, startled by the sight, bolted, overturning the buggy and dumping its occupants in a ditch. Public School Exhibit Friday Afternoon May 26
The annual school exhibit invites the public to visit all three school buildings on Friday afternoon May 26. Pupils’ work will be shown in each room and the high school gymnasium will host displays. Alma lodge 1 0 0 F visited Elwell lodge May 9 conferring the first degree on seven candidates the second by Riverdale lodge. A bountiful supper was served. May 12 Alma lodge visited St Louis lodge and conferred the first degree. Last Monday night the third degree was given in our lodge. Officers will be nominated next Monday night for the ensuing term and the first June meeting is for election. All brothers urged to attend.

Fourth of July Boosters Outline New Celebration Plan

A westbound freight derailed Thursday at about 7 30 as the curve north of town gave way. Four cars ditched and three badly smashed, twelve others derailed, engine off track. Forty rods of rail and road bed torn up. restoration expected to take several days.

Dies at Elwell Colvin Olmstead Home Death
Colvin Olmstead died at his Elwell home on Wednesday afternoon around one o clock. He had been living with his son Ralph and no one was in the house when he died, thought to be caused by a stroke of paralysis.
