The open shop debate covered the motion that the nest interests of society and labor demand the Open Shop. Judges A F B Darragh D L Joleen and Rev Williams rendered the decision for Zeta Sigma. Proceeds go to a debating cup to be contested annually, and the cup will stay with Zeta Sigma this year.

Twenty Fifth Anniversary of Mr and Mrs Henry Shaw

On Thursday May 4, about thirty friends gathered at the Shaw home to honor their twenty fifth wedding anniversary. Rev N W Weston praised the couple as music from local youth filled the evening. A silver cake basket a silver gravy indle and a silver pickle caster were given from family and friends along with fond wishes for their future. Henry Shaw born in St Jolie in 184? Ida Latimer Shaw born in Scholuke county New York in 18?? They wed May 4 1880 in St Johns by Rev James Hamilton and settled in Emerson Gratiot county. They have three children Nellie Shaw Eichorn Maud Shaw and George Shaw and one grandchild. Both are members of the first Methodist church of Emerson and enjoy many longtime friends.

State to Acquire Alma Sanitorium for Tuberculosis Care

The Moriarty tuberculosis bill moves to establish a state sanitorium for consumptives.
