Almanac style listing shows bankers and professionals including Bagley the physician and surgeon, with office locations and hours. Notes a church service time at Adams Hall and a Wednesday board meeting at OMee opposite socieries, reflecting a small town directory entry.
James Connolly and Wallace Struble will conduct revival services at Alma M E Church starting May 8. Meetings run nightly except Mondays at 7 o'clock with singing beforehand. Connolly, a noted Canadian Irishman, speaks with a strong voice and earnest manner. Struble, Ohio native and former journalist, has three years in ministry and recently joined Connolly in revival work. The two have been active in revival campaigns since last August.
Alma Mech village council met April 4 with trustees Gargett Ines Montigel and Moe Cullough. Delavan residents discussed last minutes and Matry Clark, tax references, bonds and bond actions, water trust deliberations, and oath observances as part of the ongoing village governance.
A proclaimed 19th century Japanese invention by Dr W van der Hayden describes a glass and alum solution structure claimed to resist heat cold shocks and earthquakes. The building uses purified air from the upper atmosphere filtered through cotton batting and iron framework joints sealed with rubber strips to prevent microbial ingress. It reportedly vents via open flues and maintains temperature through a brick foundation and cement interior protection.
