The Alma city Republican convention at City Hall nominated Francis King for mayor on the first ballot and reselected D W Adams for city treasurer. King, a former two time mayor and state senator, was urged as the needed leader for the coming year. The convention also named nominees for clerk and justice of the peace after ballots and informal votes. The selectees were to be finalized after ward caucuses Friday night.
