Alma’s first nonpartisan primary drew light turnout with no clear contest. Pollasky finished last among five candidates for commissioner and the rest of the names will appear on the April ballot. Voter participation by women appeared strong, similar to men, as election boards praised the capable performance of female poll workers.
Alma College faces two away games against Adrian and Kalamazoo to close the 1919 Michigan Intercollegiate season. Key players are hurt as Critten is hospitalized and Rahit, the first sub, is sidelined with a wrist fracture. A win over Adrian and Kalamazoo could secure Alma’s undisputed title unless Kalamazoo clinches on tiebreakers.

Alma College fell 25 17 to Ypsilanti in a hard fought clash. Nesbit and Tebo starred for Alma while Powers and Morris led Ypsilanti. The defeat drops Alma's record and sets up next week's Hillsdale and Adrian games as a possible title decider.
