Hooper Triumphs On Seventh Ballot For Regency Nominee
In Detroit last week Justice Frank A Hooker of Lansing won renomination to the state supreme court on the seventh ballot amid a tight fight. Kinne received 228 votes, with initial tallies showing Hooker leading but narrowing as ballots progressed. Final results: Hooker 656 to Kinne 228. Dodds received a complimentary vote. Wayne declared Hooker unanimous after a late push. Peter White of Marquette and Loyal E Koappen also won their nominations.
