Mrs Raymond Jones died at her home Sunday after a long illness. Born Nancy Horight in Newark township, she lived in Ithaca with her parents, Jacop and Ebright, for years. She married Raymond Jones in Ithaca in March 1908. Survived by husband, parents, three brothers, and five sisters. Funeral Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. at the residence, with remains buried in Ithaca per her request.

The Cars Claim Another Victim Mr Richard Bird Dies
Old Arcada resident Richard Bird was fatally struck by a fast southbound train near Ely street station while crossing after lunch with his son in law Wyman Stanton. He was taken to Brainerd hospital and died Sunday morning at 5 80. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church with burial at Riverside cemetery.

On Wednesday June 24 Alma Masons exemplified the third degree for seven candidates John Wright James Ostrander Marie Slinglait V Hollenbeck J F Fuller Arthur Murphy and John Adams. Lodge opened at 1 pm and recessed at 5 pm with union reconvening at 8.30 pm. V Hollenbeck led the work solo. At 10:30 pm about 120 members and guests dined with Evra Smith as toastmaster. Toasts from Hollenbeck Fuller Wright Adams Pollasky and Day and Dr Taylor of Carson City followed. The gathering ended at midnight, hailed as one of the best in local Masonry history.

Fire Destroys Hudson Barn In Seville Township
A barn and its contents valued at $175 were burned on Andrew Hudson’s farm in Seville township last Saturday afternoon. Neighbors, alerted by telephone, formed a bucket brigade but the barn, about ten rods from the house, burned quickly before help arrived. No insurance covered the loss, and a new barn will be built soon.

Brave Eighth Michigan Holds 39th Reunion in St Johns
Nearly 80 members from across Michigan and beyond gathered at the G A R hall in St Johns for the thirty ninth annual Eighth Michigan Infantry reunion. President W E Hamilton and secretary treasurer William M Leland led events with a morning visit, prayer, and city welcome from Mayor Fred W Goodie. The roster showed 44 members answered the roll. A banquet followed at the Conrge national church, then a campfire at the courthouse. Grand Rapids delegates Hartwell C Nichols and Charles Ranyan were elected president and secretary treasurer for next year with events planned for June 16, 1910. Readings, solos, and speeches by regimental members and local figures filled the evening program.
