Alma College scholar Herbert Wilcox dies in Gladwin
The Rev Herbert Wilcox of Alma died July 17 in Gladwin after a three week typhoid fever illness. Born January 25 1879 in North Adams he graduated top of his class in 1904 and planned to preach after Princeton Seminary. His funeral at Alma Presbyterian Church featured Dr A F Bruske speaking on faith and character. Althea B Soule of Alma died July 14 in Petoskey after a brief typhoid illness. She was born January 10 1882 in Flint and studied at Alma College Academy before teaching in Wyoming. Her funeral was held at the Presbyterian church with prayers by Dr Broske and Rev Faunedl.

Death of Gesen Charles Chapman at Alma Sanatorium
Gesen Charles Chapman died Wednesday morning July 19 1905 at the Alma Sanatorium after a three week bout with typhoid fever. A 1905 graduate, he was 30 and had bright prospects. Survived by his parents at Bolt Michigan two sisters a brother, with his sister nurse in the Sanitarium having tended him. His remains were taken to Bolt Thursday morning.

Truman Richmond Dead After Short Illness at 72
Truman Richmond died Saturday afternoon at his home in this city after a brief illness with Bright's disease. Born in Washtenaw County Michigan in 1888 he married in Ridgewater in 1861 and lived on the Gratiot frontier before moving to Alma to enjoy retirement and family.

Bloodish Field Incident Near Death
A man was nearly killed while working in a field when a bloodthirsty animal burst forth, striking above his head. A passerby rescued him and carried him to a nearby house for medical aid. Dr Monfort and W J Fuller, an air place manager, attended to him. Dated July 20, 1905.
