Presbyterian day of dedication crowns Alma church reconstruction
Last Sunday marked the dedication of Alma’s handsome Presbyterian church after about a year of construction. The project cost about $15,000 including the $3,400 site, with $2,000 provided by an unknown benefactor and additional funds raised through local efforts led by A. W. Wright. Rev. Cris A. Smith of Bay City delivered the sermon on St. John and Hebrews while Rev. David Howell of Lansing led the dedicatory service. The crowd heard praise for the community’s generosity as the balance was pledged to clear debt and the program noted gratitude to all contributors including Rev. Smith and J. H. Plat of Indianapolis.
