Another Old Settler Dies at Cedar Lake
Derry Williams aged 77 died last Friday morning at Cedar Lake. He was the father of Prat master Williams and left two other sons and a daughter. He retired at Cedar 36 years ago. The funeral was held at the home Sunday at 2 p.m.

Obituary of Ellen Woodward and local notes from the season
Ellen Woodward born September 1851 in Brooklyntownship Jackson County Michigan. She married M. J. Woodward February 17, 1868 and moved to Gratiot County on a farm where she died. Eleven children blessed the marriage with nine living. She joined the Adventist church in 1882 and remained a faithful member. Services were held at the home on December 2, 1015 and burial in Saville cemetery. Also noted are Christmas mail volume and delivery praises, and a Masons vs K of C bowling result with scores.

Wright House proprietor Edwin Brearley dies at 70
Edwin Brearley, two years proprietor of the Wright House in Reed City, died Saturday January 1 1916 after a period of illness. Born May 1846 in Wheatland County, he earlier ran a hardware store, then hotels in Reed City Allegan and Alma before taking charge of the Wright House. He married Ellen Drake, then remarried to a Mrs. Calkine of Reed City. Survived by two children, Maude Johnson and George S. Brearley, both of Reed City. Funeral and burial rites were held in Reed City with Masonic service.

DIES SUDDENLY NEAR ALMA INDIANA FARM AREA
Chris Eickelberger aged 26 died suddenly Wednesday near Alma after a hay fall and a later head injury. He had recently fallen from a load and, while helping a neighbor, suffered a severe head pain, brought home, and died minutes after arrival. His death was reported from the William Clark farm two miles south and three and a half miles west of Alma. Woodmen and Royal Neighbors announce a joint installation for Miss Sarah Borman and others at the hall in Alma, with a gathering planned for February.

PALLS OFF SCAFFOLD AT SUGAR PLANT
