Advent meetings and rural notices in Elwell and nearby towns

In Elwell last week the I of I group held lively sessions as the Advents began meetings at Phelps Brothers ball. Mrs. Susan Taylor returned from a three week visit at Copemish. A schoolhouse incident left Frank Ray briefly under a wrecked rig after a horse spooked. Charles Prichard hosts meetings at Ely school house with weekly Friday prayer gatherings. May success attend these efforts.

Runaway in Ithaca Injures Couple and Damages Store

A frightening runaway in Ithaca injured a newly married couple from St. Louis, scattering debris across O. E. Lead & Son’s hardware and causing about two hundred dollars in damages. The groom and wife escaped serious harm, though their belongings and goods suffered extensive damage. The incident disrupted streets as other teams broke loose and a lumber wagon caused additional wreckage.

Sled jags collide on Jackson street in lreckinridge

Saturday evening three residents of Jackson street in lreckinridge each rode a sled from the jag shop and met a two man St. Louis buggy. The buggy damaged but the men and horse escaped serious injury. The incident may cost the jag riders trouble but they did not stop.
