Fire damages home as Mrs Woodland lights lamp
Mrs Win Woodland faced a cloud of fire and smoke when she opened the kitchen door at about 6 o'clock Monday. Neighbors fought the blaze with water before firemen arrived. The blaze started from a lamp and spread to clothing and other rooms, causing about $10 in goods loss and heavy home damage to the Montigel residence.

Boundaries to be Extended for Alma Ward Plan
Representative Holmes introduced a bill to extend Alma village limits and divide it into four wards with Superior and State streets as dividers. The act would adopt the fourth class city charter with no school district change and remove the boards of public works. North and south bounds extend eighty rods. about 500 residents would join city governance with expanded utilities and services. Each ward gains a supervisor seat. the township keeps one.

In probate court on February 13 1900s proceedings determined Willow and three children as lawful heirs in the Frank Haynes estate. A guardian was granted to sell real estate for Beidie Lacy and Frank Haynes minors. Administrators were appointed for Parmenas Faunce and Prank Isham estates. Nelson Highe was adjudged insane and placed in Traverse City asylum. Guardians were named for Esther and Mabelshar Nadlett and Walter Whiton was named guardian of Arthur and Mable Whiton minors with authority to sell real estate. Appointment petitions for Hattie Johnson and Henry Wood estates noted with hearings set in March February 16 and March 1 respectively. Commissioners Brown drain N Walker Ed Drayer and John Barnes appointed. Special administrator Wool appointed for Henry Wood estate.
