Michigan Club Banquet Date Set for February 21
The Michigan club announces its annual banquet will be held February 21 instead of February 22, with the largest turnout expected. Gen Boynton of Washington will speak, joined by Gov Shaw of Iowa, Gov Nash, and others including Lt Gov Woodruff of New York. A members reception from 11 to 4 pm precedes an informal luncheon at the flat from 12 to 1 pm, and Gen Alger hosts a 3 to 6 pm reception for speakers and notable guests at his West Fortat residence. The banquet at the Light Guard armory will start serving at 7 pm.

Terrible crossing accident injures seven year old girl
Seven year old Corntell Wixson, daughter of Mr and Mrs Van Wisse, was struck at a railroad crossing as she attempted to cross in front of a westbound morning train near Alma. She suffered facial injuries and possible hip trauma but no broken bones. A doctor arrived promptly. the engineer reports applying brakes and horn, with the pilot striking first to avert worse harm. Nearby residents and bystanders assisted until medical help arrived.

Beet Growers Meeting and Stage Show Highlights
The Central Michigan Beet Growers Association held its third meeting in the opera house with delegates from Emerson Bethany Wheeler Seville Lafayette Sumner Arcada Pine River and North Star. A three member board was chosen and resolutions postponed for later director review while awaiting further consideration. A crowds filled Alma to see Jack's Jolly Jokers at the Opera House and praised the performance as top class. Miss Morr ence Baker and Theodore Marsh were wed in Lansing with plans to live in Alma.
