Emerson Pioneer Becker Killed in Dray Accident
Becker a longtime Emerson resident and Civil War veteran died after his neck was broken when he was thrown from a dray while hitching to a field cart. He lived near Beebe with his wife and two daughters, and funeral services were held from his Emerson home with burial in Emerson cemetery.

Arcada Farmers Club Meet At Irish Home For January Event
The Arcada Farmers Club held its January gathering at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Geo Irish with about 50 attendees. President O J Hamline led services after roll call, reports were read and accepted, and a brief literary program featured recitations by Mrs W H Smith and Mrs C G B Hichlin.
