Alma College Choral Concert Praised by Great Audience
A large crowd attended the Choral Concert under Prof T Bath Glasson in Alma's opera house. The program opened with The Bohemian Girl by the Orchestra and featured soloists Velma Sharp Frances Torrance Sadie Messinger and violinst C E Horst. The ensemble impressed with skilled training and expressive phrasing and the final Alma College Boys march by the Orchestra received strong approval. The second program part included Poet and Peasant, readings by Frances Getty and Amaret Franklin, and Rigoletto. The concert closed with applause for both Chorus and Orchestra and for director Glasson who fostered local musical enthusiasm. The Public Kindergarten Christmas exercise followed Christmas Eve with tree gifts from each child and parents attending. The kindergarten reopens January fourth.
