Alma Manufacturing reports a one and a half horsepower McVicar automatic gasoline engine built by their gas engine department. The firm touts its simplicity and automatic operation, claiming it reduces parts by about a third and requires only a filled gasoline tank and coated parts. They expect full operation soon after year start and invite visitors to view the engine’s advantages.
At a directors meeting L. E. Wilson was elected secretary and general manager. A. I. Molitor retires from active interest, returning to Lansing. Molitor, North & Moyer business to continue there. Oviatt wagons will be made at Alma with added focus on the gasoline engine department.
Ad text claims a single day cure for colds using a mixture of laxative, Bromo Quinine tablets. The claim references a SE Bel ene ittalle to cure KW Grove's signature per box.
The Michigan delegation secured committee posts including Grosvenor as Merchant Marine chair and Hamilton atop Territories. Townsend gained Interstate and Foreign Commerce, Loud on Naval Affairs, Young on Military Affairs, and McMorran on Banking and Currency and Manufactures. Several old members retained seats as the distribution limited shifts and honored favoritism amid ship subsidy tensions.
Wm Wilbur buys the old M. BE. church building and fits it for bowling in Alma. He previously moved alleys to Howell last year, but chooses Alma as a better location and adds an extension to accommodate longer lanes. Also promotes Major's Nea-Ral Pills for neuralgia and indigestion with Bivins & Rhodes inviting customers to inspect the product guarantees.
