Thanksgiving Gathering at Beebe Brings Four Generations

Mr and Mrs B F Worthington hosted a family Thanksgiving in Beebe with guests including Mrs F F Worthington and family, Geo W Dutcher, Geo A Hill, and Samuel Arnold. Four generations were present. the day featured hunting and a roasted pig. The note closes with a tax collection notice in Alma.

Thanksgiving Day Observed With Feasts At Alma

Alma residents marked Thanksgiving with store closures and a day of rest. The Baptist church service led by Rev. Spencer drew a large crowd. Hotels featured festive menus and guests from town praised Milliken House and Wight House meals. At the college dormitory a 70-seat dinner organized for students ran smoothly, with notable attendees and a grand menu. The Sanitarium hosted an elaborate reception with a brick mantle display, souvenirs, and a lengthy dinner program ending with music, readings, and games under Dr. Pettyjohn’s direction.

Seth Haskins at Alma Opera House Saturday

A rural New England comedy drama titled Seth Haskins will be presented at Alma Opera House on Saturday. Burt Hodgkins plays Uncle Seth and W J Madden portrays Fritz Rodelsperger in a humorous, sensational production with special scenery and an orchestra. Noon parade promised as a novelty with reserved seating at Shurrar and Mulholland’s drug store.
